The Story So Far… 

Chris & James first meet at the Dorchester Hotel / Bar in Hull – they discuss songwriting together – Chris mentions possibly involving friend Marcos in the songwriting collaboration 
James approaches Marcos in the local Launderette tells him about some of his songs he’s written – rushes home and returns with Guitar – Plays ’15 pounds’ to Marcos in the Launderette 
James and Chris work on songs together on and off over the coming decades – with occasional promises to hand a ‘demo tape’ of the final songs to Marcos
Barrel Fever finally enter the studio to start recording their songs in October at Ulysses Studio in Hull with David Bradfield producing and playing drum and keyboards on tracks. The first recordings are ‘15 pounds’ , ‘America’ & ‘Jermaine’. 
September – ‘Elmer Thud’ released as first single via download along with promo video. December – Barrel Fever appear live on local Radio Beverley FM for Chat and Acoustic session – ‘Elmer Thud’ and ‘15 pounds’ are played live acoustically on air. ‘Violet’ is quickly recorded and completed in the studio during December
March – Second Single ‘America’ released as download. Recording of ‘Doghouse’ is completed. 
February – Back in the studio to record ‘Digging for Australia’ . Guest musician Dave Holley adds pedal steel guitar to 2 songs. ‘Elmer Thud’ is played by Burnsy on Radio Humberside. Hull Kingston Radio get heavily behind ‘Elmer Thud’ with it reaching their ‘Humber No.1’ spot and continue to play it regularly on their airwaves over the next 5 years.  August – Hull Kingston Radio get behind ’15 pounds’ with it making the top 5 in their ‘Humber No.1’ chart. 
January – After a couple of years of non-activity due simply to very busy personal and work lives, Barrel Fever reconvene to start writing new songs, this is short lived due to the global Covid pandemic. 
Back at it finally. New songs written on brand new guitars are taking shape. 9 Out of 10 songs for the debut album are recorded and mixed…
